Create Wellbeing LLC
Kathleen is a behavioral scientist, therapeutic expressive art coach, educator, artist, and the owner of Create Wellbeing in Oakland, CA where she researches, designs, and offers integrative art and wellness practices that support self-discovery and sustain ongoing well-being. Her educational background includes a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology, a BA in Behavioral Science (a cross-disciplinary degree in psychology, sociology, and anthropology) and minor studies in art, Therapeutic Art Coach certification, Early Childhood Education certification, advanced certification in the Usui System of Natural Healing, and over 30 years of non-dual and direct awareness study and practice.
Raised by two artists, Kathleen has been making art her entire life. While she always knew she wanted to be an artist, she also felt a predilection for behavioral science, teaching, and the study of wisdom traditions. In time she found that these vocations quite naturally complimented and enhanced each other. During her early years teaching in special education and preschool then later in her work as an elementary school counselor and psychology intern, Kathleen saw first hand how art, psychology, and wisdom traditions can be synthesized in ways that help people to self-regulate and sustain well-being both personally and collectively.
As an artist, Kathleen explores the impact that human actions, habits, beliefs, stories, and mythologies have on the psychological health of individuals and societies. Some of her interactive pieces are designed to show how art itself can change the way we feel and even be used as a touchstone for personal and planetary healing.
Kathleen offers individual sessions both in-person and online. She also teaches in-person and online classes, workshops, and webinars.
